George Bush's Successor

President George (not W.) Bush was thinking about how to nominate his successor. Margaret Thatcher had just been succeeded by John Major, so George rang her.

"Hi Maggie, how you doin? How did you know that John Major should be the next Prime Minister?"

Maggie answers, "Very simple, George. I gave him a test, I asked him 'Who is the son of your father but not your brother?' and he answered immediately 'That's me!'"

George, "Ah that's great, thanks, I must test Dan with that". He summons Dan Quayle into the Oval Office. "Listen Dan, I want to give you a test to see if you are suitable to be the next President. Here it is: Who is the son of your father but not your brother?".

Dan stammers, "Er, er, can I come back to you with that?"

"Sure, Dan.".

Dan Quayle rings his good friend Henry Kissinger who is known to be the most intelligent person in the world. "Hey Henry, who is the son of your father but not your brother?". Kissinger answers "That's me!". "Ah thanks, Henry"

Dan goes back to George Bush, "I've got the answer - it's Henry Kissinger".

Bush shakes his head sadly, "Sorry Dan, that's not right, you can't be the next President". Dan Quayle goes out with his head hanging.

George Bush rings Margret Thatcher again. "Hey Maggie, I gave Dan the test, and I'm afraid he failed. He didn't even know that it's John Major!"
